Busy & Crazy Week

This past week was a busy and crazy one. It seemed like every night I had something going on after work. But I guess that is OK. It seems to keep me out of trouble, that is for the most part. I guess it was just typical life stuff. Nothing really out of the ordinary. Other than I did have to take my car into the dealer so they could fix the navigation system. The day after I took it in the service person calls and tells me that they didn't find anything wrong with it. But when I dropped it off I had no idea where it was telling me I was, but I do know that it wasn't telling me where I truly was. So, I went in to pick it up after work and one of the technicians said let's just take it around the block to be sure. And then sure enough it started to say we were two blocks away from where we really were. And he says, I have never seen that happen before. So, they kept it. And I have been in a loaner car since then. It is a bright red one. Doesn't seem to fit me, but I am grateful for the loaner nonetheless. I am hoping that I will be able to pick mine up after work tomorrow. The whole reason that this has come about is because I am taking a trip to Branson, MO at the end of April to meet Dad and Kitty for a few days and I will definitely be needing my navigation system to be working at that point.

Work is continuing to go really well for me. I am just really grateful for the wonderful company I work for. It is amazing to me how well they take care of us. I am truly blessed to be working for this company. I have been with them for 9 years now, which doesn't seem possible.

On a sad note, there is a family in the Ward that loss their little girl this week. She has been sick for a little while now and it was expected to happen. But you never can be prepared for a situation like this. She was only 1 year and 1 day old. She was such a sweet little girl and just so innocent and precious. Her Grandpa told me today that she is now playing with the angels in heaven. And that is so true. It is a comfort to know that she is no longer in pain and is now at peace. She is safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior. My heart just breaks for the family though. I cannot imagine what they must be going through and feeling. Tuesday will be her funeral. This will be the first child's funeral that I have attended. I know that it will be difficult and I am trying to prepare for that, but I don't think I will truly be prepared. It is a great comfort and it brings great peace to have the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and to know of the Plan of Salvation. I know that this family will be reunited with their little one and will be able to dwell as an eternal family one day. And this is what the Gospel is all about.

Still Alive

I know that it has been quite some time since I last blogged. I apologize for that. Things were pretty tough again for me there for awhile. I had another major depressive episode. It started right after Thanksgiving and it lasted for quite some time. I ended up back in the hospital for a week in January. I am doing much better now. Thank goodness. This past episode was a long one and a very difficult one. But thanks to love, support, and prayers of loved ones, I made it through.

Things at work are going really well for me. When I first switched departments this past December things were a bit rough. I was actually pretty bored at first. But since I have been back after being in the hospital things have gotten better. They have asked me to do a few more tasks, which is helping things not be so repetitive and mundane. I received a good review for my performance last year and receive a merit raise. We are also getting a one time bonus in celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Mercedes. This was quite a surprise. But very much welcomed. We will also be getting a very nice profit sharing bonus this year. The company made quite a substantial gain last year. Which is really good, because we lost quite a bit in 2009.

Things continue to go well at church. I really think that I am in the best Ward in the world and that I have the best Bishop. He is so loving and supportive of me. I have adopted him and his wife as my Texas parents and their daughter as my sister. They really are great. I am still Primary Chorister and loving it. Doing it this time around has been different for me in comparison with the Branch back home. A lot more kids. And I have 2 singing times (Jr. and Sr. Primary), plus a short singing time in Nursery. So, I stay hopping on Sundays. Which is OK by me.

I am feeling so blessed. I have wonderful friends here in Texas. They care about me and love me so much. They have really adopted me as their own and will do anything that I may need from them.

I have been adopted by a couple of families in the Ward. Which I love. The first family is the Kelly's. I go over there for Family Home Evening on Monday's and am loving every minute of it. Kelly (the Mom, and yes her name is Kelly Kelly) is so sweet and my closest friend here. She is the loving and wonderful mother of three boys (ages 7, 5, and 2) and finally just had her baby girl this past December. The boys are great (Isaac, Aaron, and Oscar) and Jane is the sweetest little thing and is just so precious. I almost forgot to mention the Dad, Derek. He is great and is a lot of fun to be around. He is an ER doc in one of the hospitals in Fort Worth. The other family that has adopted me are the Wright's. I go over there for FHE when the Kelly's aren't available. Lisa and Aaron are the proud parents of 5 girls (from the age of 8 to 6 months). I feel bad for Aaron sometimes being the only male in the house but he is a fantastic Father. And he even plays princess with the girls.

There are many more friends that I have here that are great (too many to mention in this post).

Anyway, I just wanted you all to know that I am still alive and kicking. I hope and pray that you are doing well.
